KOLKATA, Aug 15 GLOBSYN Technologies Ltd, which runs the software finishing school called Techno Campus, has started a business management education school called Globsyn Business School. The school was inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Mr Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee. Mr Satya Sadhan Chakraborty, the Minister for Higher Education was also present. Mr Bikram Dasgupta, Chairman and CEO of Globsyn, said that the business school would try to create entrepreneurial managers for the 21st century. The first batch of 60 students began their classes in July this year. The school offers a full-fledged post-graduate diploma in business management (PGDM). The students for this course will be selected through an entrance examination modelled on management admission tests followed by leading overseas Universities. The Chief Minister discussed the initiatives taken by the Government for the development of the information technology sector. In this context, he said that the State Government was formulating a new labour law whereby women in this sector would be allowed to work past 8 p.m. He added that the Government was holding talks with a number of leading companies such as Oracle, Microsoft and Wipro for spreading computer literacy among school children. "The Government is trying to increase software exports from the State. Currently, our share is only three per cent of the total software exported from India. In our vision plan for IT, we have targeted an increase in share to 15-20 per cent by 2010,'' Mr Bhattacharjee said.
