Our Bureau

NEW DELHI, Dec. 15

INDUSTRIAL output is on the rise again. This has been indicated in the latest survey carried out by the Associations Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry (Ascon).

The survey conducted for the last nine months from April to December covers 125 manufacturing associations affiliated to Ascon along with the other member-companies of the CII.

The survey shows that during April-December, 11 sectors showed `excellent' growth of more than 20 per cent. During the same period in the previous year, only seven sectors had shown such growth.

During the year, a `high growth' of between 10-20 per cent increase in production was recorded by 30 sectors, up from 17 sectors during the previous year. Similarly, there was an increase in the number of sectors showing moderate increase in production of less than 10 per cent during the year as compared to the same period last year.
