KOLKATA, Jan. 10
CHANGES in aviation and aerospace security, current trends such as deregulation and globalisation which impact civil aviation and the imperatives for taking aerospace technologies to levels of excellence are among the issues that will be discussed at a seminar on "Indian Aviation Challenges and Perspectives'', slated to be held here on January 21 and 22.
The seminar is being organised by the Aeronautical Society of India and coincides with the aviation body's 54th annual general meeting.
The President of India, Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, will be the chief guest on the occasion. Incidentally, Dr Kalam was himself the President of The Aeronautical Society of India in 1994.
Stating this at a news conference here, Capt. Sushil Mehrotra, Chairman of the Kolkata branch of the Society, said participants at the seminar will also deliberate on the international trends and extraordinary business challenges facing the air transport and aviation industry.
