ISO 9001 for petrol bunk

VISAKHAPATNAM: For the first time in South India, the ISO-9001:2000 certification was awarded to Indian Oil Corporation jubilee retail outlet at Anakapalle in Visakhapatnam district on Saturday.

Mr I.K. Padmakar, General Manager of IOC, Andhra Pradesh, said on the occasion that the corporation was concentrating on maintaining quantity and quality standards at its outlets.

IOC would soon launch a programme, Operation Everest, employing outside agencies to check quality and quantity standards at nearly 100 outlets in the State.

The programme would be conducted in two phases. Mr Alok Mishra, Deputy General Manager, IOC, said the corporation was facing intense competition in the market and it was necessary to adopt strategies to improve service at petrol bunks. The ISO 9001 certificate was handed over by Mr Padmakar.
