Rubber prices firm as sellers withdraw

Kottayam , Sept. 19

RUBBER market firmed up on Friday following the withdrawal of the sellers, noticing the uptrend in the international market, which is now over Rs 2 per kg ahead of the Indian rate for RSS 4.

In the domestic market, RSS 4 closed at Rs 49 against Rs 48.25 per kg as on Thursday. The international market at Bangkok improved by 56 paise to close at Rs 51.13 per kg for RSS 3 on Friday

The futures market opened better but declined slightly on buyer resistance towards mid-session. October delivery was quoted at Rs 48.50 (Rs 48.59), November delivery at Rs 48.45 (Rs 48.48) , December delivery at Rs 48.45 (Rs 48.47) and January delivery at Rs 48.46 (Rs 48.48) per kg for RSS 4.

The spot market rates per kg on Friday follows: RSS 4 49 (48.25); RSS 5 46.50 (46); ungraded 45 (44.50); ISNR 20 45 (45); latex 60 per cent 37 (37).
