Hyderabad , Sept. 19

THE State Government proposes to consider grant of incentives to the industries keen to set up facilities in the planned `Green industrial park' in Jadcherla in Mahboobnagar district.

With a view to encouraging environment-friendly industries, the State Government is working on the project to have a well-developed industrial park on a 1,000-acre plot at Jadcherla to promote industries manufacturing `green products'.

Addressing presspersons on the sidelines of the two-day Green Business Summit 2003, the Minister for Major Industries, Mr K. Vidhyadher Rao, said the Government had acquired 680 acres so far. "We will complete the remaining acquisition soon. The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation will develop the plot by 2004 end," he said.

The Minister, who accompanied the Chief Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, on his recent visit to Italy and Israel, said a high level team from the German automobile major Volkswagen was set to visit the State soon to discuss the issue.

Earlier addressing the summit, Mr Vidhyadher Rao said in the long run, the State Government would adopt environment management as a tool to provide competitive advantage to the State in attracting investments.
