New Scorpio launched

VISAKHAPATNAM: The new showroom of Automotive Manufacturers' Pvt Ltd was inaugurated here on Wednesday morning and in the evening the New Scorpio, of Mahindra & Mahindra, was launched. The new vehicle was launched by Dr S.A Rehman, the Chairman of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority.

Mr Sudhir Shah, Deputy General Manager, Mahindra & Mahindra, said 25,000 Scorpios had been sold in the country during the first year itself and in the second the company was hoping to sell at least 30,000 or so. He said over 1,200 vehicles had been sold in Andhra Pradesh and five dealers had been appointed so far. He said Mahindra & Mahindra, supposed to be a company confined to rural India, could penetrate the urban markets too.

Mr Rajiv Sanghvi, of Automotive Manufacturers, the dealer, said the new showroom at Maddilapalem would offer a range of accessories and product add-ons. In the State, the company had branches at Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Kurnool besides Hyderabad and spares outlets at Rajahmundry and Chittoor. There were several sales outlets too.
