Malaysia relaxes visa rules for Indian tourists

Our Bureau

New Delhi , Nov. 22

IN an effort to facilitate the arrival of tourists, the Malaysian Government has announced a slight relaxation in the visa rules for Indian citizens.

In a statement, the Malaysian High Commission has said that Indian tourists who combine their visit to Malaysia with a trip to either Singapore or Thailand will be given a 14-day visa on arrival.

However, to avail themselves of this offer, Indian visitors must enter Malaysia from either Kuala Lumpur International Airport or through Johor Bahru, the entry point by road from Singapore.

The statement said that the visa would only be valid for Indian nationals visiting Malaysia for tourism purposes.

Also, a traveller needs to have a valid visa for either Thailand or Singapore and hold confirmed return air tickets. The cost of the special visa is Malaysian ringgit 51 or Rs 650.
