`Live registration vital for export units to succeed'

Our Correspondent

Madurai , Nov. 23

WHILE price, quality and delivery schedules are necessary inputs to succeed in exports, equally necessary is live registration with respective trade bodies and knowledge about procedures to export and shipping lines at different ports, the Deputy Director of the Plastics Export Promotion Council (Plexconcil), Chennai, Mr M.V. Ramesh, has stressed.

Addressing an interaction meeting with the members of the Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industrialists Association (Maditssia) and the Plastics Manufacturers Association (Plasma) here, he said that registration enabled the exporting units to derive the concessions and benefits extended by the government. Otherwise, the units will find the business of exports a costly affair and will not be able to surviveMr K. Ramachandran, Maditssia President, said the plastic industry in Tamil Nadu was suffering due to the norms laid down by the Pollution Control Board, having been placed in the red category, while throughout the country, the industry is placed in green category.
