Rubber prices remain steady

RUBBER rates were steady on Tuesday. The market remained in a passive mood throughout the session.

Transactions were low even though certain major manufacturers were reported to be buying sheet rubber around the prevailing rates.

In the domestic market RSS 4 closed at Rs 52.75 as on Monday. RSS 3 was steady at Rs 55.06 in the international market at Bangkok. The futures market remained positive with nominal gains on Tuesday.

The near month January delivery was quoted at Rs 56.10 (Rs 56), February delivery at Rs 58.50 (Rs 58.21), March delivery at Rs 60.71 (Rs 60.46) and April delivery at Rs 62.00 (Rs 61.70) per kg for RSS 4.

The physical market rates per kg on Tuesday were as follows: RSS 4 Rs 52.75 (Rs 52.75); RSS 5 Rs 51 (Rs 51); ungraded Rs 48.50 (Rs 48.50); ISNR 20 Rs 51.25 (Rs 51.25); latex 60 per cent Rs 39.50 (Rs 39.50).
