Off-shore Development C3i has big plans for Hyderabad centre Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Jan. 19 C3I, a New York-based information technology company focusing on pharmaceutical industry, has set up its first centre outside the US in India at Hyderabad. Announcing India plans, Mr Joel H. Morse, Chief Executive Officer, told newspersons here today that in the next few years the Hyderabad Centre would emerge as the global services provider for C3i. Launched in October 2003, with offices in the Vanenburg IT Park in the Hitec City, the company has recruited 50 professionals and started operations by providing customer relationship management (CRM) to the pharma giant, Roche, he said. "We have big plans for Hyderabad and as we re-engineer for US business operations, a large chunk of work will shift. We have a multi-million dollar client pipeline to sustain this high growth in the near future," Mr Morse said. Launched in 1993, the company has been achieving 80 per cent growth rates in the past five years. Major clients include Wyeth, American Express, Johnson & Johnson, Aventis Abott Laboratories, Bayer etc. It chose to park in Hyderabad, based on advice from its consulting firm Eumotif after a strategic review for establishing offshore operations, he said. The Hyderabad Centre would help C3i provide the 24-hour call centre capability and add other services for the pharma sector. The company would look for local clients soon, said Mr Michael Jakubiak, Global Implementation Director and head of the India operations in Hyderabad. He said while a majority of the professionals would be recruited within the country, plans were to relocate some from the US. From the 500-strong in US, the company is looking at trimming it by a hundred and raise the strength in India taking advantage of the cost, skills and time extension facilities.
