IBM launches TryScience Kiosk

CHENNAI: IBM India on Wednesday launched its TryScience Kiosk at B.M. Birla Planetarium, Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre.

Based on the www.tryscience.org Web site, the kiosk is an online science and technology centre. It is designed to make science education interactive and fun for children. The kiosk provides information on five science topics to be explored. They are: experiments, field trips, curious, live cams and adventures.

IBM has installed a similar kiosk at Bangalore and plans one more at Hyderabad. Globally, IBM has installed kiosks in about 50 locations, said Mr R. Dhamodaran, Vice-President and Country Manager-Software Group and Developer Relations, IBM India. It is part of IBM's service for the community and an effort to create solutions to bridge the existing digital divide in the country, he said.
