Mumbai , March 11

KOREAN mobile handsets manufacturer Pantech has introduced two premium GSM models in the Indian market, one priced at Rs 13,995 and the other at Rs 25,995.

The G300, with seven-colour illumination, a 260-K colour screen, and MMS, GPRS, WAP capabilities that can be synchronised with a personal computer, is targeted at the "cosmopolitan woman." The more expensive G500, which Pantech claims has the largest picture ID display in the market, is targeted at "the aristocratic man."

Pantech aims to acquire a 5 per cent market share of the premium category handsets market, said Mr Sonjoy Roy, Chief of First Mobile India, in which Pantech has a sales-service-marketing tie-up.
