Co-operatives Deposit mobilisation in Kerala Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The deposit mobilisation drive launched on March 1 in the co-operative sector has yielded Rs 179.66 crore at the end of the first 15 days, according to an official. The campaign has targeted to mobilise Rs 400 crore by the month-end. The primary agricultural co-operative societies mobilised Rs 133.94 crore, urban banks Rs 16.96 crore, district co-operative banks Rs 25.44 crore and State Co-operative Bank Rs 3.3 crore as on March 16. The district of Kannur, which raised Rs 22.18 crore, led the rankings. Thiruvananthapuram raised Rs 21.16 crore against a Rs 20-crore target. Mobilisations by other districts with targets within brackets (in crores of rupees): Kollam - 10.10 (26.0), Pathanamthitta - 7.56 (16.0), Alappuzha - 8.96 (16.0), Kottayam - 16.35 (80.0), Idukki - 6.99 (16.0), Ernakulam - 19.61 (74.0), Thrissur - 17.34 (46.0), Palakkad - 7.03 (16.0), Malappuram - 15.01 (26.0), Kozhikode - 13.31 (16.0), Wayanad - 3.24 (6.0), Kannur - 22.18 (30.0), Kasaragod - 7.45 (8.0) and the State Co-operative Bank - 3.31 (4.0).
