KOCHI: Coinciding with the CII Kerala annual session, The IPR Tool Kit - an awareness seminar on intellectual property rights (IPRs) will be organised here on Friday.

The objective of the seminar is to raise awareness of the principal concepts of intellectual property rights and its importance, introduction to the procedures for acquisition, management and protection of trademarks etc.

The seminar will be inaugurated by Justice Mr K.S. Radhakrishnan of the Kerala High Court. Dr S.N. Maity, Controller General of Patents and Designs, Mumbai, will delivery the keynote address. Mr P.H. Kurian, Managing Director, KSIDC, will also address the participants.

With the advent of the globalisation process, the elimination of trade barriers and more sophistication and development around the world, the protection afforded by the IPR regime has emerged as a mainstay of the new world order.
