Labourers cleaning the Cooum river in Chennai as part of its beautification. The Rs 2.2-crore project is being done by the PWD. The work, which started in December 2003, will be over by October 2004. Trees will be planted and landscaping done on a total of 2.23 km of the river's bank in two stretches.
