Bajaj launches new motorbike

BAJAJ Auto has launched a new motorcycle, CT 100, which gives a mileage of over 100 km per litre.

The Bajaj Auto Vice-President for Sales and Marketing Mr R.L. Ravichandran, told newspersons that CT 100, the entry-level bike could eat into the executive segment too because of its superior features.

The mobike comes with a two-year warranty and is priced at around Rs 32,000. He said Bajaj Auto has a 32 per cent market share in the entry-level segment.

Mr Ravichandran said the motorcycle is fitted with a unique ride control switch, which helps the user in achieving higher mileage. He said with 8.2 bhp and a low-end torque, the bike is capable of carrying two people at speed as low as 20 km/hour.

He said Bajaj plans to launch a gearless scooter called Wave and relaunch its old warhorse, Chetak soon. He said the two-wheeler segment is expected to grow around 15 per cent during the current fiscal year. The total size of the market is 5.6 million with Bajaj Auto's share being 1.3 million.
