Buyer-seller meet in Madurai begins tomorrow

THE Madurai District Tiny And Small Scale Industries Association (Maditssia) and the Small Industries Service Institute (SISI), Chennai, are jointly organising a `Buyer-Seller Meet' here for two days, starting June 3.
Mr K. Ramachandran, President of the Association, in a statement here said numerous SSI units, spread over southern parts of the State, with quality, productivity and managerial capacities are facing difficulty in marketing their products owing to lack of proper information.
This contact programme will be a platform for the units to exhibit their products and also for the large industries to exhibit their purchase needs. On the part of buyers, about 25 Government and large scale industries are participating and on the sellers side, about 70 SSI units are participating. Major buyers like DGS & D, Integral Coach Factory, Southern Railways, BSNL, Postal Department, State Transport Corporation and public sector undertakings like NLC, BHEL, SAIL, are taking part. Apart from this, private sector organisations like TAFE, Fenner, TVS Group, SPIC, Ashok Leyland, Simson Group, TI Cycles etc are also taking part.
The event is sponsored by Development Commissioner (SSI), Government of India, through SISI and is supported by institutions like SIDBI, Nabard, SIDCO, NSIC, State Bank & Canara Bank, he said.
