THE Minister for Steel, Chemicals and Fertilisers, Mr Ram Vilas Paswan, on Thursday met a delegation from the Indian Steel Alliance (ISA) and has assured them that the Ministry would take steps to ensure that per capita consumption of steel in India reaches international levels.

The Minister also said that his Ministry would prepare a base paper on the requirements of the steel industry including taxation and duty structure and infrastructure needs and will have a meeting with the Prime Minister to evolve a coordinated approach.

He urged the steel manufacturers to ensure adequate supply to the consumers, particularly the small-scale sector.
