Commodity Exchanges IPSTA online trading terminal in Wayanad Our Bureau
Kochi , June 17 THE India Pepper and Spice Trade Association (IPSTA) opened its first online trading terminal, outside Kochi, at Sulthan Battery in Kerala's Wayanad district on Thursday. With the introduction of online trading, the farmers in general could avail themselves of the benefits of participating in IPSTA online trading system thereby protecting themselves from adverse price fluctuation, Mr Kishore Shamji, President, IPSTA, said after inaugurating the terminal. With this facility, payables and receivables would be settled there itself. Pulikot Credits and Investments had set up the terminal. They were planning to open IPSTA terminals at Mananthavady and Pulpalli soon, he said. This new facility would enable the trading community totrade through IPSTA terminals. The exchange would open more terminals in other parts of the State, which would definitely help the traders and farmers to avail themselves of the benefits of hedging. Besides, a franchise outlet has also been opened by A-1 Commodities at Kalpetta in the district. The IPSTA exchange, which has been conducting futures trading in pepper for the past 47 years in Kochi, had recently introduced rubber as well.
