Radico Khaitan bullish on growth

Our Bureau

New Delhi , Aug. 15

WITH aggressive plans chalked out, liquor maker Radico Khaitan is planning to retain its double-digit growth in the next quarter.

The company had recorded a 56 per cent increase in its profits during the first quarter of the year.

"With new brand launches, setting up of new bottling plants, and efficiencies in operations, the company saw turnover go up from Rs 194 crore to Rs 215 crore, a growth of 11 per cent," said Mr Abhishek Khaitan, Managing Director.

The company has also commissioned a greenfield manufacturing facility with a capacity of 600,000 cases per annum in Uttaranchal, and is in the process of setting up a similar plant in Rajasthan.

The recent acquisition of Whytehall India Ltd, a 51:49 venture between Bacardi and Radico Khaitan, and the bottling plant Anab-e-Shahi in Andhra Pradesh will also provide a fillip to the company's revenue in the forthcoming months.

"Last year 500,000 cases of Whytehall premium whisky were sold and the merger will further strengthen our top line growth," Mr Khaitan said.

Also, the acquisition of Anab-e-Shahi, which has a capacity of a million cases a year, will give the company a foothold in the southern markets.
