The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation has made it mandatory for BMTC and all private transport vehicles to get licences to display commercial advertisements on their vehicles by paying the stipulated fee as per advertisement by-laws. However, advertisements displayed for social causes like pulse polio programme, family planning, etc., are exempted from the fee.
