Announcements Samtel to supply to Thomson Our Bureau
NEW DELHI: SAMTEL Color Ltd, the country's largest manufacturer of colour picture tubes, has entered into an agreement to supply 22.5 lakh colour picture tubes (CPTs) to Thomson Tubes Displays SA of France over the next three years. According to the delivery schedule, Samtel would manufacture and supply seven lakh CPTs to the French consumer electronic giant annually from 2005 to 2007, the company said in a release on Monday. Samtel would also offer to supply 1.5 lakh CPTs in September-December 2004, taking total supply commitment to 22.5 lakh CPTs, it said. The agreement covers supply of CPTs of 14, 20, 21 inches and 21 inches (flat) to Thomson. The contract is subject to detailed conditions as laid out in the commercial agreement between Samtel and Thomson. Samtel has also entered into technology and technical support agreement with Thomson for product design and technical support for producing 29 inch CPTs, it said.
