Enterprise Resource Planning SAP begins road shows Our Bureau
Bangalore , Sept. 21 Enterprise Resource Planning (EPR) vendor SAP plans to strengthen its presence in the mid-sized market. Having acquired 45 customers till September this year, the company is ontarget to bag 60 clients by the year-end. Addressing the media on the first day of the SAP SMB Forum nation-wide road show in the city on Tuesday, Mr Srinivas Rao, Sales Director-SMB, SAP India, said, "ERP is getting mainstream and given the fact that enterprise resource planning is being implemented across industries today, we are looking at being the number one ERP vendor in the Asia-Pacific region." With over 20,000 mid-sized companies being potential customers for ERP applications, SAP views India as a key market. Towards this end, the global ERP vendor has increased its partnership network to ten firms, Mr Rao added. The micro-verticalised approach adapted by SAP with its mySAP All-in-One Solutions is also expected to accelerate the ERP vendor's attack on the Indian SMB segment. Mr Alok Shende, Director, Technology Practice, Frost & Sullivan, said the mid-sized ERP market in India is estimated to grow from $9 million (2003) to $31 million by 2010.
