Supply Chain Management Accenture trying out i2 Tech toolkit Our Bureau
Bangalore , Sept. 28 SUPPLY chain management application vendor i2 Technologies expects to increase its business over the coming year leveraging its proprietary toolkit that allows composite application development. The company has partnered with TCS and NEC Solutions to peddle the toolkit to various verticals and also plans to use its network of system integrators to bag new projects. Having bagged multi-million multi-year deals from Dell, Infineon and Nokia, i2 Technologies "is also looking at consulting firms. "Accenture is doing a test run on the product, but they are going slow on firming up their decision," said Mr Pallab Chatterjee, President-Solutions Operations, i2 Technologies Inc. In Bangalore to announce the upcoming facility, Mr Chatterjee told presspersons that composite application development would be the software buzzword over the coming two years, with IBM and Microsoft already launching application suites to address this space. While i2 does not have plans to hire people in the immediate future, "with the new facility it is possible for us to double the number of people we have on board right now," Mr Chatterjee told Business Line. Spread over 4.5 acres, the facility, to be completed by the year-end, would be leased by i2 Technologies. Currently, 60 per cent of the product development work is conducted in the Bangalore facility that houses 1,100 employees. Mr Chatterjee expects a slow growth in revenue since the product business is based on a licensing and subscription model.
