More Britannia executives quit

Sudha Menon

Pune , Oct. 1

DAIRY and bakery major Britannia Industries is witnessing an exodus from its senior management cadre even as Bangalore's corporate circles are abuzz with talk of a major restructuring exercise within the organisation in the near term.

Informed sources said the company's General Manager, Marketing (Bakery), Mr Navin Chopra, and the General Manager, Treasury, Mr J. Rajagopalan, have put in their resignations along with a few other key members of the marketing team.

The duo's resignation comes close on the heels of the resignation of Mr Pawan Malik, CEO, Britannia New Zealand Foods Ltd, which handles the company's dairy business.

Meanwhile, informed sources said that Mr Malik, who put in a 20-year stint in Britannia, is now all set to take up a new assignment as Director, Sales & Marketing at Cargill India Pvt Ltd, where he will drive the edible oil business, which currently has the Nature Fresh brand of oil in the market.

Repeated attempts to contact Mr. Nikhil Sen, COO, Bakery, who is the senior most in the hierarchy after Mr Malik, drew no response.

Mr Navin Chopra is to take up a new assignment at telecom company Hutch, sources said.
