IBMT to launch management course for NGOs

Our Bureau

Bangalore , Oct. 5

THE Bangalore-based Institute of Business Management and Technology (IBMT) is launching a Master's Programme in Business Management for non-profit organisations in the next academic year.

The two-year programme will have courses in social history of philanthropy and public affairs, public management in the 21st century, financial management for NGOs, governance of NGOs and voluntary management.

According to Dr Anil Rawat, Director, IBMT, the course aims at bringing professionalism into the voluntary sector. "With winds of privatisation sweeping across the global economy, governments around the world are reducing their role in providing social good. In the coming decades, the US alone is likely to pump in around $6 trillion into the sector."
