Nuclear power

This is with reference to "PM calls for peaceful use of N-power without proliferation" (Business Line, October 24). Though the Non-Proliferation Treaty itself provides for use of nuclear technology for peaceful purpose, the US often seems to be sceptical of other countries using advanced nuclear technology. This hampers the developmental needs of developing countries such as India.

Importantly, the International Atomic Energy Agency has come forward to assist the development and application of nuclear power for peaceful purposes in the developing countries. It is time the nations exploiting nuclear energy joined hands for initiating a constructive dialogue.
