New Products & Services Ind-Swift's new drug delivery system Our Bureau
NEW DELHI: The Chandigarh-based Ind-Swift Ltd has launched a new drug delivery system (NDDS) of Nitazoxanide, an anti-diarrhoeal drug, in India. It has been launched in the dispersible tablet form, which is suitable for all age groups. The company is second globally to launch the NDDS of this drug after the innovator. The market for anti-diarrhoeal drugs is estimated to be Rs 400 crore. "The company expects the molecule to corner a market size of over 10 per cent of this segment and is expecting a turnover of Rs 12-15 crore from this molecule in the full one year of its operations," said a company statement. Ind-Swift has also entered into a marketing arrangement with pharmaceutical companies such as Lupin and US Vitamins, where Ind-Swift supplies the drugs to these companies and they are marketed under the respective brand names. According to the company's Joint managing Director, Mr V.K. Mehta, "NDDS enhances the life time of the drug."
