Software Keane to expand centre; plans BPO operations Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Nov.10 KEANE Inc, a business and information technology consulting solutions provider, has announced the expansion of its Hyderabad centre that has seen an investment of $4 million this year and the setting up of a testing laboratory. The company plans to create a separate BPO centre here with an additional investment of $4-5 million. The Senior Vice-President, International Operations, Keane Inc, Mr Laurence Shaw, said, "Our expansion in India, part of the $25 million planned by the company, reflects one of the many initiatives we have underway in India to enhance our organisation and market approach to address changing market dynamics and opportunities." Addressing a press conference here at their new facility along with senior members of the Keane team, including the Managing Director of Keane India, Mr Parmindar Singh Miglani, Mr Shaw said that the company has about 2,000 employees in India spread across three locations, including the BPO operations. "We plan to expand this to about 3,000 by first quarter next year and to 5,000 by next year end." Mr Miglani said, The Keane Quality and Testing Laboratory would initially have about 100 people and is likely to be ramped up to meet the growing requirement of clients." Mr Shaw said, "We are debating internally whether to go in for a fourth leased facility or establish our own campus. Hopefully, early next year, we would decide. In all probability, we will locate a campus in India at Hyderabad."
