Chopra takes charge as Corpn Bank CMD

MR V.K. Chopra took charge as Chairman and Managing Director of Corporation Bank on December 9.

Prior to this appointment, he was the Chairman and Managing Director of Small Industries Development Bank of India.

Mr Chopra (58 years) is a Fellow Chartered Accountant by profession and is a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers.

He started his career as an official in Central Bank of India in 1969, and served the bank for 31 years in various capacities.

Mr Chopra was appointed as Executive Director of Oriental Bank of Commerce in September 2000.

He was elevated as Chairman and Managing Director of SIDBI in July 2002.
