Our Correspondent

Kottayam , Dec. 20

DOMESTIC spot rubber prices were steady on Monday. Both buyers and sellers seemed to pursue a wait-and-watch policy.

The market activities were low key and sheet rubber RSS 4 closed at Rs 52.50 as on Saturday. The market was almost unchanged on Saturday also except ungraded rubber, which lost 25 paise as north Indian buyers preferred to reduce their commitments.

NMCE futures showed a positive trend though reports from the world markets were not favourable.

The January delivery was quoted at Rs 54.05 (53.89), February delivery at Rs 55.20 (54.93), March delivery at Rs 56.25 (55.99) and April delivery at Rs 57.39 (57.01) per kg for RSS 4. The volumes were moderate.

At TOCOM, January futures for RSS 3 moved down to 124.2 yen from 126 yen a kg on Friday.

The spot market rates per kg on Monday follow: RSS 4 52.50 (52.50), RSS 5 49.50 (49.50), Ungraded 48.25 (48.25), ISNR 20 50.00 (50.00), Latex 60% 40 (40).
