AP: Panel to study ferro alloy units' plea

A COMMITTEE, comprising two Cabinet Ministers and senior officials, would be set up to examine the Andhra Pradesh Ferro Alloys Producers Association (APFAPA) plea for reconsideration of the proposed hike in power tariff rates for ferro alloys units.

The Transmission Corporation of AP, in its tariff proposals for 2005-06, has sought to increase the tariff for ferro alloys units by 75 paise from the existing Rs 2.12 to Rs 2.75 per unit.

Stating that the power-consuming ferro alloys units would incur losses if the power charges were hiked, APFAPA has submitted a representation to the Government to reconsider the proposal.
