Industry & Economy - Anti-dumping

Revocation of dumping duty on Vitamin A Palmitate recommended

K.R. Srivats

New Delhi , Feb. 2

THE Designated Authority in the Commerce Ministry has recommended the revocation of anti-dumping duty in force on Vitamin-A Palmitate originating in or imported from the European Union, Singapore and Georgia.

In its mid-term review of definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of Vitamin-A Palmitate imports from these countries, the Authority has concluded that dumping of Vitamin-A Palmitate continues from these countries. The Authority has, however, concluded that the domestic industry does not suffer any material injury on account of these dumped imports as the import prices and the sales realisations of the domestic industry are above the non-injurious price.

BASF AG, Germany had through the European Commission filed an application for a changed circumstance mid-term review of anti-dumping duty imposed on Vitamin-A Palmitate imports from the EU, Georgia and Singapore.

The Finance Ministry had in March 2003 imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on Vitamin-A Palmitate imports from the EU, Georgia and Singapore.
