HC nod for ITC Hotels merger

THE Calcutta High Court has approved the scheme of amalgamation of ITC Hotels Ltd with ITC Ltd.

The shareholders of both the companies had approved the scheme of amalgamation. Ninety-nine per cent of the shareholders had accorded their consent to the scheme.

The Central Government has no objection to the scheme of amalgamation, ITC counsel, Mr Sudipta Sarkar, informed the court.
