The Hindu Business Line : Karnataka Gold Festival from April 4

THE World Gold Council, in association with The Art of Jewellery magazine and jewellery associations will hold `Karnataka Gold Festival 2005' across the State from April 4 to May 25.

Addressing presspersons here on Friday, the Chief Editor of The Art of Jewellery, Mr Sumesh Wadhera, said that nearly 200 jewellers from Mysore, Davangere, Hubli and Bangalore have confirmed their participation in the festival, and the organisers are expecting more.

Five kg of gold will be distributed among 246 winners in the lucky draws to be held during the festival.

Mr K. Shivram of World Gold Council said the festival coincides with Ugadi and Akshaya Tritiya and wedding season.

Terming last year's `Bangalore Gold Festival' as a success, he said the jewellery trade registered a 25 per cent growth in sales during the festival.
