The Hindu Business Line : HAL, BEML get awards for engineering exports

HINDUSTAN Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has received the top exporter trophy and award from the Engineering Export Promotion Council's Southern Region for 2001-02 and 2002-03.

HAL has been receiving the top honour in the category of exporter of engineering consultancy, technical know-how and other engineering services in the Southern Region for more than a decade, according to a release here.

Mr M. Fakruddin, Director (Corporate Planning & Marketing), received the awards EEPC Chairman, Mr Rakesh Shah, in Chennai last week.

Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML) has bagged the regional award for highest exports during 2001-02 and certificate of export excellence for the year 2002-03 from EEPC Southern Region. The BEML CMD, Mr V.R.S. Natarajan, received the awards, given in recognition of its efforts to enlarge its presence in the international market and penetrating newer markets such as Suriname, Ethiopia and the Netherlands, a BEML release said.
