Reliance Equity Opportunities IPO clocks Rs 1,773 cr

RELIANCE Equity Opportunities Fund collected Rs 1,773 crore during its initial public offer, according to a company release.

This fund joins Templeton Flexi Cap Fund that has mopped up substantial sums of money during the IPO.

This is the highest IPO collection for Reliance Mutual Fund and the money has been collected from 2.2 lakh investors, said the release.

"In an effort to reach out to retail investors, we have spread our network over diverse geographies in the country through appointment of business associates in smaller cities and towns.

This strategy has enabled us to have a presence in over 60 cities and has paid off well," the release quoted Mr Amitabh Chaturvedi, CEO, Reliance Capital Asset Management.
