CyberMedia, Dice in pact for tech job board

Bangalore , April 5

CYBERMEDIA has partnered with Dice Inc, a US-based online recruitment company, to launch a job board focused on tech jobs.

Announcing the launch, Mr Michael P. Durney, Senior Vice-President and CFO, Dice Inc, said that the entry into India was fuelled by the rapidly growing Indian market and an increasing demand by US-based customers to help them hire in India.

CyberMedia Dice is the first formal joint venture undertaken by Dice outside the US, he added.

Dice Inc, a 14-year-old online recruitment company, has 1.6 million registered users and about 1.4 million visitors a month.

Currently, the site offers 67,000 job openings, according to Mr Durney.

Mr Pradeep Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, CyberMedia, sees the venture as a natural extension of their current activities that is technology-based anyway. "This indicates our serious commitment to the technology community in India."

In addition to recruitment services, CyberMedia Dice Careers Ltd, will provide assessment and practice services to the job seeker.

The CyberMedia Dice - Measurement Index (CMD-MUP) is an assessment module that enables a recruiting manager to identify potential employees effectively.

The index also helps job seekers identify and highlight their competencies to prospective employers.

For the fiscal year just ended, the online recruitment market in India was estimated to be Rs 70-90 crore, with the industry showing an average growth of 50 per cent on a year-on-year basis.
