Poverty eradication

This refers to the article "Another Dandi march, another Gandhi!" (Business Line, April 6). Another Dandi march is not a bad idea if it could spark some of the same spirit of political freedom to win economic freedom.

Just as Gandhiji vowed that he would not return to Sabarmathi Ashram until India achieved Independence, could we take a pledge that we will not have another Dandi at least till extreme poverty is eradicated?

A. Jacob Sahayam
