MUMBAI: The sixth annual International Indian Film Academy awards will be held in Amsterdam this year.

The four-day event to commence on June 9 will also include a celebrity cricket match, a film festival and a world film premiere.

The choice of Amsterdam stemmed from the fact that it has a vibrant film industry.

At a press conference to announce the awards, Mr Amitabh Bachchan, Brand Ambassador, IIFA, said Amsterdam brings back memories as many of his films were shot in the European city.
