Events Meet on green lighting a Hyderabad Our Bureau
HYDERABAD: Dr Pramod Deo, Chairman of Maharashtra Energy Regulatory Commission (MERC), has said that green lighting should be made part of the Indian building codes to promote the concept. Addressing a two-day meet on `Green lighting' on Friday, he said there was a need to focus on segments such as agricultural pumps, street lighting and public water works to improve power situation. Mr Anil Kumar V Epur, Past Chairman of CII (Southern Region), said green lighting played a pivotal role in the green building movement. Stating that India was geared up for the green building movement, he highlighted some of the projects in India certified and registered for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environment Design) Rating, according to a CII-GBC (Green Business Centre) press release.
