Jindal Poly Films open to acquisitions overseas

Our Bureau

Kolkata: Jindal Poly Films Ltd is open to overseas acquisitions to expand its value added product basket, according to Mr Punit Gupta, Executive Director (Films) of the company.

He was in the city along with Mr S.K Mittal, Managing Director, for the coming public issue of the company. Mr Gupta said the company's acquisition of the French company, Rexor SAS, in 2003, had given access to coated film production technologies.

"We are always open to acquisitions as long as it helps in developing more value added products because our constant aim is to move away from commodity sort of films," Mr Gupta said.

Regarding the ensuing public issue, Mr Mittal said the price band was likely to be announced either on Tuesday or Wednesday. The issue is scheduled to open on Thursday.
