HYDERABAD: A Malaysian Government company has offered to invest up to Rs 2,500 crore on roads and other infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh.

Mr Dato Hamzah Hasan, Chief Executive, along with his team, met the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, and made the proposal.

The delegation from Lembaga Pembangunan Industri Pembinaan Malaysia, part of Construction Industry Development Board of Malaysia, also expressed interest to invest in several infrastructure projects, according to an official press release.

While assuring the delegation of the State Government's support, Dr Reddy said major investment proposals have been cleared, the foremost among them being the hardware park near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad and the Pharma City coming up in a 2,000-acre site near Visakhapatnam.

"Our goal is to achieve 10 per cent increase in investments every year, which translates to Rs 150 billion of new investments by 2010," Dr Reddy told the visiting delegation.
