Announcements Marketing - New Products & Services ITC launches new greeting cards collection `Expressions Regalia' Mohan Padmanabhan
Kolkata , Aug. 15 IN a bid to give a special thrust to its greeting cards, gifting and stationery business prior to the festival season, ITC has launched a new corporate gift collection `Expressions Regalia'. Mr R. Srinivasan, Member, Corporate Management Committee, ITC, told Business Line that it was a specially designed box containing a premium collection of 15 large cards and five small ones, with envelopes, in five different designs, which have been created through paintings by Phalguni Dasgupta. The product may soon be available also in Wills Life Stores across the country, he pointed out. Mr Chand Das, CEO of the Greetings, Gifting and Stationery Division, said the `Regalia' cards have been priced at Rs 300 a box. He said the division was constantly looking at expanding the portfolio to stay competitive, especially in a market segment where retail margins are pretty high. While the greeting cards market size at the moment was around Rs 200 crore, the stationery segment with a much larger pie of Rs 5,000 crore was equally attractive, he added. The company has invested around Rs 500 crore on this business in the last 5 years. Brand-building will be around Expressions, Classmate and Paperkraft brands. He said the company was also seeking tie-ups with various State Governments for the Classmate notebooks for bulk orders under the Government of India's Sarva Siksha Abhiyan. An order for 5 lakh notebooks has been executed for the Nagaland Government. Among the schools for which Classmate notebooks are being customised are Delhi Public School, New Delhi and Hyderabad, Parkwood School, Bangalore and Padma Seshadri (Chennai).
