Infrastructure Delhi, Mumbai airports revamp Govt to give transaction document to bidders today Our Bureau
New Delhi , Aug. 29 THE process for modernisation and restructuring of Delhi and Mumbai airports is to move forward with the Government all set to provide the transaction documents to the eight short-listed bidders on Tuesday. While officials are tight-lipped on details, it is expected that the bidders will be given two weeks to submit their bids. The Government is likely to decide on the winners shortly thereafter. The transaction document, on the basis of which the bidders will be submitting their bids, was finalised by the empowered Group of Ministers in June this year. The bidding process has attracted eight entities including Reliance, DLF, GMR, Bharti and L&T. The Government will allow the successful consortium to undertake building activities directly related to facilitating passengers or development of air services. The transaction document is likely to specify that the successful bidder will be allowed to use 5 per cent of the total area earmarked for the new airport in Delhi for commercial development, while 70 per cent will be set aside for runway development and 10 per cent for the development of a green area. In Mumbai airport, 10 per cent of the total area can be used for commercial development.
