New Delhi , Sept. 6 MAX HEALTHCARE on Tuesday launched the Wellness Credit Card in association with ABN-Amro Bank.The credit card would enable customers to avail themselves of a complementary screening package across any of the Max Healthcare facilities in Delhi and National Capital Region. The cardholder also gets special rates on the services provided by the hospital. Other benefits include ante-natal classes for expecting mothers, discounts on spa and fitness centre memberships and also on fitness equipment. The credit card also offers zero per cent surcharge on petrol bills, free personal accident insurance of up to Rs 10 lakh and 15 per cent discount on car rentals from Hertz. It also offers entitlement of up to Rs 50,000 over the credit limit in case of an emergency for the customer. The card comes with MasterCard logo and would be valid across 23 million MasterCard points worldwide. It comes at an annual fee of Rs 750. Talking to the media, Mr Romesh Sobti, Executive Vice-President and Country Representative, ABN-Amro Bank, said that the bank expected to sell at least 100,000 cards in the next 12 months. This is the fourth card from the bank, the existing ones being two credit cards Gold and Freedom and a debit card, which it launched in association with Air India. When asked about the representation of Warburg Pincus on the board of Max, Mr Analjit Singh, Chairman, Max India Group, said that Warburg Pincus was represented on the board by Mr Rajesh Khanna, Managing Director, and Mr Nitin Sibal, Vice-President, Warburg Pincus. Max Healthcare, part of Max India, plans to increase its presence in the Delhi and NCR from five hospitals at present to eight to nine by the end of 2007. It thus aims to have 1,300 beds by the end of 2007.
