THE Union Ministry of Non Conventional Energy Sources in association with Aditya Solar Shops, Kochi, is conducting a one-day conference on "Role of Stakeholders in Popularisation of renewable energy options - action based approach" here on Saturday.

The Union Minister of State for Non Conventional Energy Sources, Mr Vilas Muttemwar, will inaugurate the function.

The conference will focus on various aspects of making renewable energy business more user-friendly than earlier. It will also focus on more interaction between stakeholders to ensure Renewable Energy Mission reaches all the villages by providing lighting to all the houses in the country.

A press statement issued here said that the Ministry has expanded the base of stakeholders by incorporating the District Advisory Committee (DAC) all over the country to suggest improvements in the Renewable Energy Activities to suit the individual districts. In fact, all these DACs are being financed by the Ministry for conducting the day-to-day business interaction to meet on regular basis.

This information will be examined and the Ministry will initiate suitable action, the release said.

A number of issues related in understanding the role of State nodal agencies, DACs and NGOs, Aditya Solar Shops, entrepreneurs of renewable energy business and to give a proper shape to the network of renewable energy movement in India are reviewed periodically.

The Ministry has taken proactive steps in liberalising the funding pattern from the financial year 2004-05, and in the recent past new areas were included for funding by the Ministry, bringing full spectrum of financial institutions involved in the country.
