Kochi , Sept. 25

THE V-Guard Group is set to open its second amusement park - Wonder La - in Bangalore on September 30.

With an estimated project cost of Rs7 7 crore in the first phase, the park incorporates the latest technologies in amusement parks. It is located on Bangalore-Mysore Road and is approximately 29 km away from Vidhana Soudha in Bangalore.

Mr Arun K.Chittilappilly, Executive Director of the group, told mediapersons here that the park has been designed as an improved version of Veega Land, the first amusement park of the group operating in Kochi since April 2000.

Wonder La has a total land area of 82 acres in a beautifully landscaped terrain, of which the amusement park occupies 45 acres, including land and water based rides. The company has adopted an in-house technology for various rides and some of the rides are imported from Italy, he said.

The specialities of Wonder La include 48-seat virtual reality theatre with high definition video projections system, 26 water based attractions including different types of water slides, two wave pools, 24 land based rides etc. Heated water will be provided for wave pools and play pools in winter months. A reverse osmosis plant with a capacity to process 40,000 litres an hour will ensure the quality of water in the entire park.

Mr Kochouseph Chittilappilly, Chairman and Managing Director of the group, said Veega Land had been successfully operating in the last five years and around 8.5 lakh people visited the park last year. It is the first amusement park in the country to be ISO 140001 certified for environmental standards, he claimed.
