THE Chandigarh-based Winsome group is expanding and modernising its spinning and knitting production lines at an outlay of Rs 250 crore.

The group is increasing its spindleage from the present 1,00,000 to 1,50,000. It is also expanding its knitted garment making as well, according to Mr Manish Bagrodia, Managing Director of Winsome Yarns Ltd, a member of Winsome group.

The expansion/modernisation project, expected to be completed over the next three years, will double its turnover from the present Rs 250 crore, Mr Bagrodia told newsmen at the sidelines of a road-show on an international exhibition on textile technology `Textech 2005' to be organised by the CII in Punjab next month.

At present, Winsome produces 55 tonnes per day of cotton/woollen and blended yarns and this capacity would go up to 80 tonnes per day once the expansion work is completed.
